The Philadelphia 76ers have signed center Joel Embiid to a reported three-year, $193 million extension, according to Shams Charania of the Athletic.
According to Charania, Embiid will have a player option in 2028-29.
“Philadelphia is home. I want to be here for the rest of my career,” Embiid wrote on Instagram. “I love this community and everything you’ve given me and my family. There’s a lot more work to do. You guys deserve a championship and I think we’re just getting started!”
The 30-year-old Embiid is a seven-time All-Star, two-time scoring champion, and was an All-NBA First Team in 2023 to go along with his only MVP award.

Embiid is coming off a 2023-24 season where he played in just 39 games and averaged career highs of 34.7 points and 5.6 assists per game. He also shot 52.9% from the field, 88.3% from the free throw line and 38.8% from three-point range.
