Brandon Aubrey’s long-range shooting prowess traveled north to New Jersey for “Thursday Night Football” in Week 4 against the New York Giants.
The Dallas Cowboys’ 2023 First-Team All-Pro kicker drilled a 60-yard field goal with 5:06 left in the third quarter to cut Dallas’ lead to five, 17-12. It also improved his personal record in 2024 to 11 for 11, and his career mark on field goals of 50 yards or longer to a perfect 16 for 16. Aubrey’s 16 for 16 mark on field goals of 50 yards or longer is the NFL record to start a career.
A week ago against the Baltimore Ravens, Aubrey drilled a 65-yard field goalthe longest in Cowboys history and the second longest in NFL history. He was indifferent that day following the historic deed.
“Nothing different, just going out there, and that’s kind of in a range that we’re comfortable with going out there and just hitting it,” Aubrey said Sunday. “I think that’s the third one we’ve called from almost that range, so getting comfortable with it. I’ve seen it a few times, and at this point I know I can do it. The coaching staff knows I can do it, so they’ll keep calling it.”
Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has shown he wants to continue running Aubrey out there, and at this point, Aubrey has proven he’s just going to keep running them.
