One of Kaylor’s top NFL DFS picks for Monday Night Football is Lions quarterback Jared Goff. The former No. 1 overall pick rejuvenated his career in Detroit, and he leads one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses. Goff has been inconsistent at times over the Lions’ first three games, but he has the ability to erupt for a massive fantasy night any time he plays.
Goff will face a Seattle defense that leads the league in pass defense, but as Kaylor noted, those numbers are deceiving. The Seahawks have played the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, and Miami Dolphins (without Tua Tagovailoa) in their first three games, which is not a great indicator of what kind of defense they really are. Goff and the Lions passing attack will be the most accomplished group Seattle has faced by a wide margin.
Kaylor is also targeting Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III. The former Michigan State standout missed Seattle’s last two games with an oblique injury, but is no longer listed with any type of name on the team’s injury report. In his only game of the season, Walker had 20 carries for 103 yards and a touchdown against a strong Denver Broncos defense.
The Lions have been strong against the run themselves, but with this game being played at Ford Field, Kaylor expects a heavy workload for Walker on Monday night. For his career, Walker is averaging 4.4 yards per carry, and has proven to be a solid pass catcher out of the backfield.
