Waters ruled out Warriors-Grizzlies after hyperextending knee originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
Lindy Waters III was ruled out for the remainder of Friday’s Warriors game against the Memphis Grizzlies after sustaining a hyperextended left knee late in the second quarter.
Waters landed awkwardly contesting a dunk attempted by Grizzlies forward Santi Aldama with 1:58 left before halftime.
The 27-year-old was in immediate pain and clutched his left knee. He managed to walk up the Chase Center tunnel to the Warriors’ locker room without much assistance.
The Warriors officially ruled Waters out for the remainder of the game just before the third quarter began. Second year professional Brandin Pod Ziemia started the second half instead of Waters.

Waters has been a DNP (Coach’s Decision) in the last two Warriors games, but he was back in the rotation on Friday.
Now the Warriors will wait to see if Waters is forced to miss extended time.
